Narrative:
Dfw departure clare 2 RNAV climbing through FL300 ft worth 126.57. Waypoints poten and tekbe were omitted because after clare 2 was loaded in GPS failed to select transition. This put us approximately 20 degrees south of course. ATC gave us heading to correct. No conflict. ATC said no problem. We did compare GPS vs flight plan at gate. I read from GPS while first officer checked flight plan. First officer did not pick up omission of waypoints. We discussed the event and vowed to be more vigilant.
