Narrative:
I was working radar during an extremely busy period with WX deviations; reroutes through the sector; and aircraft being rerouted into the sector incorrectly due to confusion over what the reroutes should be. During this period I had an air carrier X swbound at FL380 and air carrier Y nwbound at FL380. Because my attention was diverted to the north end of the sector; the 2 aircraft came into close proximity before I could take corrective action.

Narrative: I WAS WORKING RADAR DURING AN EXTREMELY BUSY PERIOD WITH WX DEVS; REROUTES THROUGH THE SECTOR; AND ACFT BEING REROUTED INTO THE SECTOR INCORRECTLY DUE TO CONFUSION OVER WHAT THE REROUTES SHOULD BE. DURING THIS PERIOD I HAD AN ACR X SWBOUND AT FL380 AND ACR Y NWBOUND AT FL380. BECAUSE MY ATTN WAS DIVERTED TO THE N END OF THE SECTOR; THE 2 ACFT CAME INTO CLOSE PROX BEFORE I COULD TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION.
