Narrative:

Maintenance personnel approached the aircraft for the purpose first officer doing a daily inspection. During the course of the inspection; a #2 engine oil leak was noted. Inspection of the engine revealed the oil service cap/dipstick laying in the bottom of the cowl in a pool of oil. Engine was wiped clean; serviced with 8 pints of engine oil and the oil service cap was properly secured. Aircraft was returned to service.

Title: A DHC-8-400 ON ARRIVAL TECHNICIAN OBSERVED #2 ENGINE OIL LEAK. ON OPENING COWLING DISCOVERED OIL FILLER CAP MISSING. ADDED ENGINE OIL AND REPLACED CAP.

Narrative: MAINT PERSONNEL APPROACHED THE ACFT FOR THE PURPOSE FO DOING A DAILY INSPECTION. DURING THE COURSE OF THE INSPECTION; A #2 ENG OIL LEAK WAS NOTED. INSPECTION OF THE ENG REVEALED THE OIL SVC CAP/DIPSTICK LAYING IN THE BOTTOM OF THE COWL IN A POOL OF OIL. ENG WAS WIPED CLEAN; SERVICED WITH 8 PINTS OF ENG OIL AND THE OIL SERVICE CAP WAS PROPERLY SECURED. ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SVC.
