Narrative:
Center asked if we were proceeding direct to iso. We said we would if he wished. Controller then said he had him direct iso; did we have that? After reviewing flight pan and pre departure clearance; we discovered pre departure clearance showed 'hcm iso' as a revision and; therefore; the route we should have been flying; not flight plan route of...hcm J193 weavr J121 iso.... As cleared; we turned direct iso immediately after verifying ZDC still wanted us to do so.

Narrative: CTR ASKED IF WE WERE PROCEEDING DIRECT TO ISO. WE SAID WE WOULD IF HE WISHED. CTLR THEN SAID HE HAD HIM DIRECT ISO; DID WE HAVE THAT?
