Narrative:
While performing daily inspection checks to aircraft; I was on 5 hours of rest in 40 hours due to scheduling and knew that the interruptions that I was receiving were going to make it a much longer night than I had planned on. During the inspection of the aircraft; I was receiving several calls from a GA pilot with a dead battery on his king air. He was in a hurry to leave the airport as the airfield was going to close during the night for runway maintenance. We do not carry a lot of maintenance items other than personal hand tools for the repair of aircraft so I was distraction in attempting to find a resolve for the pilot's dead battery. As a result of the phone call interruptions and in a hurry to assist the stranded pilot; and fatigue; I apparently neglected to check the aircraft battery switch to be in the 'off' position before leaving the flight deck; an item that I usually check twice. In the future I plan to focus on the task at hand and not accept the interruptions from second and third parties during the inspection of aircraft.

Title: AN A320 DURING AN OVERNIGHT LAYOVER THE CONTRACT TECHNICIAN DOING THE CHK IS CALLED AWAY AND LEAVES THE MAIN SHIP'S BATTERY SWITCHES IN THE ON POS.
Narrative: WHILE PERFORMING DAILY INSPECTION CHKS TO ACFT; I WAS ON 5 HRS OF REST IN 40 HRS DUE TO SCHEDULING AND KNEW THAT THE INTERRUPTIONS THAT I WAS RECEIVING WERE GOING TO MAKE IT A MUCH LONGER NIGHT THAN I HAD PLANNED ON. DURING THE INSPECTION OF THE ACFT; I WAS RECEIVING SEVERAL CALLS FROM A GA PLT WITH A DEAD BATTERY ON HIS KING AIR. HE WAS IN A HURRY TO LEAVE THE ARPT AS THE AIRFIELD WAS GOING TO CLOSE DURING THE NIGHT FOR RWY MAINT. WE DO NOT CARRY A LOT OF MAINT ITEMS OTHER THAN PERSONAL HAND TOOLS FOR THE REPAIR OF ACFT SO I WAS DISTR IN ATTEMPTING TO FIND A RESOLVE FOR THE PLT'S DEAD BATTERY. AS A RESULT OF THE PHONE CALL INTERRUPTIONS AND IN A HURRY TO ASSIST THE STRANDED PLT; AND FATIGUE; I APPARENTLY NEGLECTED TO CHK THE ACFT BATTERY SWITCH TO BE IN THE 'OFF' POS BEFORE LEAVING THE FLT DECK; AN ITEM THAT I USUALLY CHK TWICE. IN THE FUTURE I PLAN TO FOCUS ON THE TASK AT HAND AND NOT ACCEPT THE INTERRUPTIONS FROM SECOND AND THIRD PARTIES DURING THE INSPECTION OF ACFT.
