Narrative:
G5 departed gnv airport requesting 12000 ft en route to mcf. The G5 was climbed to 6000 ft for traffic. Once the traffic was resolved; the G5 was instructed to climb to 15000 ft. Our approach control only has surface to 10000 ft in that area. I have no explanation why I issued 15000 ft to that aircraft. We do operate surface to 15000 ft in most of our airspace around jax international airport.
