Narrative:
I landed on runway 22L and planned to exit left onto runway 9L. Tower authority/authorized the taxi-off to runway 9L then right on taxiway Y and told us to switch to ground control frequency. The captain took over the controls and steered onto taxiway Y sbound. I checked in with ground and received instructions to taxi south on taxiway Y; left onto K8; and to our gate and that company aircraft landing behind us would give way to us on taxiway Y. As we approached the Y9 high speed I looked to my right and aft; and saw company aircraft traveling towards us fast and on an intersect course as we exited runway 22L at the Y9 high speed. I did not think he was going to stop so I said 'stop; stop!' to my captain. We stopped just short of Y9 and taxiway Y. At that instant the other crew checked on with ground and stated in a hurried voice that they would taxi in front of us. Ground was silent for a second then acknowledged that; then after a several second pause ground thanked us for giving way to company. I estimate that company passed us; his left wing to our nose; at 75 ft; but probably much closer. Factors: other aircraft too fast on high speed and probably should not have chosen that high speed taxiway since we were on an intersect course on the parallel taxiway. Also; other aircraft should have stopped and checked in with ground prior to entering taxiway Y. I am not sure how long the Y9 high speed taxiway is or where the hold short line is. Perhaps this should be a hot spot at dtw.

Title: FLT CREW ON TXWY Y AT DTW REPORTS CONFLICT WITH COMPANY ACFT EXITING 22L AT TXWY Y9. TAXIING FLT CREW STOPS TO ALLOW LANDING ACFT TO PASS IN FRONT.
Narrative: I LANDED ON RWY 22L AND PLANNED TO EXIT L ONTO RWY 9L. TWR AUTH THE TAXI-OFF TO RWY 9L THEN R ON TXWY Y AND TOLD US TO SWITCH TO GND CTL FREQ. THE CAPT TOOK OVER THE CTLS AND STEERED ONTO TXWY Y SBOUND. I CHKED IN WITH GND AND RECEIVED INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI S ON TXWY Y; L ONTO K8; AND TO OUR GATE AND THAT COMPANY ACFT LNDG BEHIND US WOULD GIVE WAY TO US ON TXWY Y. AS WE APCHED THE Y9 HIGH SPD I LOOKED TO MY R AND AFT; AND SAW COMPANY ACFT TRAVELING TOWARDS US FAST AND ON AN INTERSECT COURSE AS WE EXITED RWY 22L AT THE Y9 HIGH SPD. I DID NOT THINK HE WAS GOING TO STOP SO I SAID 'STOP; STOP!' TO MY CAPT. WE STOPPED JUST SHORT OF Y9 AND TXWY Y. AT THAT INSTANT THE OTHER CREW CHKED ON WITH GND AND STATED IN A HURRIED VOICE THAT THEY WOULD TAXI IN FRONT OF US. GND WAS SILENT FOR A SECOND THEN ACKNOWLEDGED THAT; THEN AFTER A SEVERAL SECOND PAUSE GND THANKED US FOR GIVING WAY TO COMPANY. I ESTIMATE THAT COMPANY PASSED US; HIS L WING TO OUR NOSE; AT 75 FT; BUT PROBABLY MUCH CLOSER. FACTORS: OTHER ACFT TOO FAST ON HIGH SPD AND PROBABLY SHOULD NOT HAVE CHOSEN THAT HIGH SPD TXWY SINCE WE WERE ON AN INTERSECT COURSE ON THE PARALLEL TXWY. ALSO; OTHER ACFT SHOULD HAVE STOPPED AND CHKED IN WITH GND PRIOR TO ENTERING TXWY Y. I AM NOT SURE HOW LONG THE Y9 HIGH SPD TXWY IS OR WHERE THE HOLD SHORT LINE IS. PERHAPS THIS SHOULD BE A HOT SPOT AT DTW.
