Narrative:

Cleveland center cleared us to climb to FL370. As we were climbing through FL305 to FL310 we experienced mod wake turbulence rolling aircraft 10 to 15 degrees left and right. After passing FL310 cleveland asks us in a hurried manner to report reaching FL320. We acknowledged his request and he again asked us to confirm passing FL320. We switched range scale for TCAS data and noticed target 2 hundred feet below us at FL310 and 8 miles directly ahead of us. Winds were directly on our tail at 60 KTS. I believe we had a separation error that gave us moderate wake turbulence and could have injured our flight attendants because of the relative smooth ride we had experienced as well as the ATC report of smooth ride.

Title: A320 FO RPTS WAKE TURBULENCE ENCOUNTER DURING CLIMB THROUGH FL305; DESCRIBED AS MODERATE WITH 10-15 DEG ROLLS; WITH ACFT 8 NM AHEAD AT FL310.

Narrative: CLEVELAND CTR CLRED US TO CLB TO FL370. AS WE WERE CLBING THROUGH FL305 TO FL310 WE EXPERIENCED MOD WAKE TURBULENCE ROLLING ACFT 10 TO 15 DEGS L AND R. AFTER PASSING FL310 CLEVELAND ASKS US IN A HURRIED MANNER TO RPT REACHING FL320. I BELIEVE WE HAD A SEPARATION ERROR THAT GAVE US MODERATE WAKE TURBULENCE AND COULD HAVE INJURED OUR FLT ATTENDANTS BECAUSE OF THE RELATIVE SMOOTH RIDE WE HAD EXPERIENCED AS WELL AS THE ATC RPT OF SMOOTH RIDE.
