Narrative:
Flying in ZZZ traffic pattern and coming in on 45 degrees to enter; an aircraft announcing he was departing the pattern. Did not have us in sight. After several radio calls; we needed to descend 200 ft below pattern altitude to avoid a collision. Throughout downwind; he was directly above us; entering ZZZ1 airport on the arrival. Flew over private airport while experimental aircraft was taking off. Both aircraft had other in sight; however; flight was close in proximity.
