Narrative:
We had lost our right engine hydraulic pump after departure; and declared the emergency for our return to ZZZ as we anticipated an overweight landing. Landing was uneventful. Taxied to gate immediately with no further problems. Captain informed me; as we walked up the jetbridge to join our replacement aircraft; that he believed I had begun flap retraction before we had completely exited the runway. This came as a surprise to me; as it is my policy to never start any after landing checklist items before completely clearing the runway. If this indeed happened; it may have occurred due to a distraction of crash fire rescue equipment equipment positioned just to our right as we exited the runway; as we were taking precautions to allow them to back away before completely exiting the runway.

Title: A B757 FO RPTS THAT FOLLOWING AN EMER RETURN TO LAND BECAUSE OF HYD PUMP FAILURE HE WAS DISTR BY CRF PERSONNEL AND RETRACTED THE FLAPS EARLY.
Narrative: WE HAD LOST OUR R ENG HYD PUMP AFTER DEP; AND DECLARED THE EMER FOR OUR RETURN TO ZZZ AS WE ANTICIPATED AN OVERWT LNDG. LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. THIS CAME AS A SURPRISE TO ME; AS IT IS MY POLICY TO NEVER START ANY AFTER LNDG CHKLIST ITEMS BEFORE COMPLETELY CLRING THE RWY. IF THIS INDEED HAPPENED; IT MAY HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO A DISTR OF CFR EQUIP POSITIONED JUST TO OUR R AS WE EXITED THE RWY; AS WE WERE TAKING PRECAUTIONS TO ALLOW THEM TO BACK AWAY BEFORE COMPLETELY EXITING THE RWY.
