Narrative:
Departing opf 36R, morning, 2/88, I questioned the tower after liftoff how soon I could begin a left turn as my departure request was w-ward and I did not know fully the in-use of 36L. Tower (frequency 120.7) stated, 'turn anytime,' and soon after began a conversation with me about my beautiful aircraft, what year it was, was it converted? (It is a 172 converted to texas taildragger type--certainly seldom seen!) our conversation continued and he reminded me to stay under 1500'. He suddenly stated I needed to contact mia, as I was now in their airspace. My LORAN did not concur that I was within 5 NM of their tower! Asked if indeed had to contact them. He at first said, 'no,' then came back and said, 'yes.' I did so and they sent me on my westwardly course. Upon leaving their radar service, I was told to call them via phone when I landed, collect. This was attempted from brooksville, fl, at operator 155, and the # I was given was 'blocked,' meaning cannot accept collect calls. It was tried again from panama city, fl, at operator 0240, and still the # is/was blocked. I can only think they wanted me to call to: 1) chew me out for being in their control zone when actually I had not departed control tower frequency, and thus should have been still under his direction and believed he would not talk me right into a known control zone; 2) get enough information so as to violate me.

Title: SMA PLT DEPARTING OPF ON WESTERLY HEADING ALLEGEDLY PENETRATED MIA TCA.
Narrative: DEPARTING OPF 36R, MORNING, 2/88, I QUESTIONED THE TWR AFTER LIFTOFF HOW SOON I COULD BEGIN A LEFT TURN AS MY DEP REQUEST WAS W-WARD AND I DID NOT KNOW FULLY THE IN-USE OF 36L. TWR (FREQ 120.7) STATED, 'TURN ANYTIME,' AND SOON AFTER BEGAN A CONVERSATION WITH ME ABOUT MY BEAUTIFUL ACFT, WHAT YEAR IT WAS, WAS IT CONVERTED? (IT IS A 172 CONVERTED TO TEXAS TAILDRAGGER TYPE--CERTAINLY SELDOM SEEN!) OUR CONVERSATION CONTINUED AND HE REMINDED ME TO STAY UNDER 1500'. HE SUDDENLY STATED I NEEDED TO CONTACT MIA, AS I WAS NOW IN THEIR AIRSPACE. MY LORAN DID NOT CONCUR THAT I WAS WITHIN 5 NM OF THEIR TWR! ASKED IF INDEED HAD TO CONTACT THEM. HE AT FIRST SAID, 'NO,' THEN CAME BACK AND SAID, 'YES.' I DID SO AND THEY SENT ME ON MY WESTWARDLY COURSE. UPON LEAVING THEIR RADAR SVC, I WAS TOLD TO CALL THEM VIA PHONE WHEN I LANDED, COLLECT. I CAN ONLY THINK THEY WANTED ME TO CALL TO: 1) CHEW ME OUT FOR BEING IN THEIR CTL ZONE WHEN ACTUALLY I HAD NOT DEPARTED CTL TWR FREQ, AND THUS SHOULD HAVE BEEN STILL UNDER HIS DIRECTION AND BELIEVED HE WOULD NOT TALK ME RIGHT INTO A KNOWN CTL ZONE; 2) GET ENOUGH INFO SO AS TO VIOLATE ME.
