Narrative:
Accepted aircraft with two new MEL's; both for the captain's electric seat controls; which I had written up the evening before. Although the MEL does not address deactivating the electrical power to the seat I assumed it had to have been done. During departure; the captain's seat experienced a full runaway. I found and pulled the circuit breaker for the captain's seat and continued on with our trip. I contacted maintenance control and they informed me that disconnecting power from the seat is not in their procedure. Well obviously it should be. MEL lacking the basic intentions of safety of flight. Re-write the MEL immediately. This could have easily caused a dangerous situation under adverse conditions.

Title: An A320 Captain experienced a runaway electric seat which had been written up the night before and deferred. The reporter stated the MEL apparently does not call for deactivating electrical power to the seat.
