Deviation from clearance altitude; crossed waypoint too high. We had an upgraded instrument display. Neither of us had had flown one in a long time. Cleared to cross hkuna at FL270; we did not start descent in time to comply.

Title: Air Carrier flight crew fails to make crossing restriction during descent. Captain believes the primary cause is the upgraded glass instrument displays which the crew is not familiar with.
Narrative: Deviation from clearance altitude; crossed waypoint too high. We had an upgraded instrument display. Neither of us had had flown one in a long time. Cleared to cross HKUNA at FL270; we did not start descent in time to comply.
