Narrative:
I obtained a briefing from 800-WX-brief and specifically asked if there were any tfrs in the areas I had photo sites. En route; cvg TRACON told me there was a tfr but that I could climb to 3;100 ft and be above the tfr. To be safe; I climbed to 3;200 ft and shot photos of my site. As I was leaving the area; I was invited by cvg TRACON to descend and shoot at my initial requested altitude of 2;000 ft; which I declined due to the presence of a tfr which I did not think existed. Upon my return to home; I looked up the information on stadium tfr's and see that I was possibly in violation at the direction of TRACON because stadium tfr's go to 3;000 AGL. Flight service should never say 'no tfrs across your route' unless they have checked stadium trf's and clarified this point. I feel I was not given accurate information; however I also now know to decline offers by TRACON that are under the 3;000 ft AGL limits.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: Photo mission aircraft reported possible stadium TFR infraction operating in CVG's airspace; noting Flight Service TFR information was less than complete and CVG TRACON's instructions questionable.
