Narrative:

After reviewing the two MEL's on the aircraft for our flight I decided that the combination of both was not acceptable. Having an air condition pack inoperative and the left wing air leak detection system B loop inoperable; although legal as separate MEL's; the combination was not the best for flight safety. At that time; I requested a plane change and brought it to the attention of the acting chief pilot and the dispatcher. None had the authority to switch aircraft. Rather than fix the aircraft or switch to another; they switched crews.
