Narrative:
Tower not yet open. Started our taxiout to runway 29. I was conducting required aircraft checks, while my first officer was getting the clearance and a void time. I did not hear these, but my first officer accepted the clearance and void time. Based on my first officer's experience, 7 yrs and over 1 yr flying with company involved in this report, I trusted him to accept a reasonable void time. I had been flying with him the previous 3 weeks. He told me we had to hurry so we would make our void time, so I completed the checks. We did our before takeoff checklists, rolled out onto the runway and took off. About 1 minute after takeoff we called ZLA. The controller was angry, said we missed our void time by 1 1/2 min. My first officer looked at his watch and said the time was 55 1/2. Our void time was 54. This incident only caused, as far as I know, the controller to vector us around because another commuter was inbound on the localizer approach to runway 11. I am positive that this incident did not cause a near miss. The controller was mainly upset because we missed the void time. We did miss the void time by about 1/2-1 min. I attribute my mistake to putting too much trust and authority in my first officer. I should have asked him specifically what the void time was before we taxied onto the runway and made my own decision which would have been not to accept a void time that would cause us to have to hurry. I have been on reserve and had been doing a lot of flying with reduced rest, overnights where you get about 6 1/2 hours of sleep. I myself get totally exhausted from commuter flying and need even more time to sleep than 8 hours. Miscom among the crew, even though you trust another crewmember, you need to know all the facts so that I could have made the decision and not him. First leg of the day, not very alert, because it's early.

I HAVE BEEN ON RESERVE AND HAD BEEN DOING A LOT OF FLYING WITH REDUCED REST, OVERNIGHTS WHERE YOU GET ABOUT 6 1/2 HRS OF SLEEP. I MYSELF GET TOTALLY EXHAUSTED FROM COMMUTER FLYING AND NEED EVEN MORE TIME TO SLEEP THAN 8 HRS. MISCOM AMONG THE CREW, EVEN THOUGH YOU TRUST ANOTHER CREWMEMBER, YOU NEED TO KNOW ALL THE FACTS SO THAT I COULD HAVE MADE THE DECISION AND NOT HIM. FIRST LEG OF THE DAY, NOT VERY ALERT, BECAUSE IT'S EARLY.
