Narrative:
Just after takeoff; we had a TCAS RA that instructed us to monitor vertical speed. We were climbing; and the red area on the vsi told us to continue the climb. The TCAS screen was very cluttered; but it appeared that the red aircraft symbol showed the other aircraft 400 ft below us when the RA started. We continued to climb; and the RA went away. We advised tower; and flew to our destination with no further incidents.
