Narrative:

On check in at flight operations; I noticed that the dispatcher comments section of the flight plan showed us released via track bravo; but the body of the flight plan had us on track charlie. I called dispatch and was told that the released track bravo was a typo; and we were in fact cleared on track charlie. When we sent our track request to shanwick via ACARS they responded with 'call shanwick to negotiate.' when I called them; they showed us filed on track bravo. I told them no; we were filed on track charlie. They cleared us on track charlie and we proceeded across the ocean. At approximately N90; gander cleared us to pelsi intersection. I was on break and my first officer told gander that we didn't have pelsi on our flight plan and that our coast in was via lakes waypoint and from there to mckee. Gander said we were filed track bravo to pelsi and we went through the entire story with them and they cleared us to lakes and flight plan route. The ramifications of this error on dispatch even after my inquiry before take off is immense. Not only could there have been deviation violations filed; but there could have been separation problems as well. Thankfully; no violations occurred due to the vigilance of the cockpit crew. We were not the only flight this happened to today. This needs to be addressed soon before there is a route violation or a mid air incident or accident.
