Narrative:
Flight # jfk-stt, 11/88 cleared A-300 jfk-ddp, large transport aircraft single ONS positions entered correctly and plotting map/flight plan entries all correct and positions plotted. Right on. At 'lennt (172 north of ddp) san juan center contacted and flight advised it was approximately 60 NM east of course near 'thank' int. We quickly checked all positions. Only error was a 'false wind' was in ONS for approximately 1 1/2 hours (showed approximately 120/129 degree). This was giving us a false drift correction and a/C was left of course, but plotting on course. Wind had corrected itself by lennt and read from 295/20 degree. On this ONS no way to insert winds like INS. In hindsight with such an erroneous wind we should have called position doubtful and dr to ddp.
