Narrative:
Local controller cleared flight to land. Speed and subsequent landing seemed normal. Upon T/D local asked if we were ok, then commented that smoke was coming from main wheels. As aircraft slowed and began to settle I noticed the feel of a flat tire. Tried to taxi aircraft clear of runway, but was unable. Discovered had 2 flats on left main and one flat on right main. Had to shut down aircraft on runway causing closure of runway 23 for approximately 45 mins. This aircraft is the state of the art aircraft in its class and is loaded with black box technology. Past experience has shown that unique occurrences are capable of happening west/O being able to duplicate for maintenance personnel. As has been demonstrated to this pilot in the past, advanced technology airplanes demand a different type of diligence on the part of a flight crew. In this case, a simple anti-skid system has been engineered to unnecessary complexity. Supplemental information from acn 110313: dscnts, initials and final checks were completed by company operating procedures. All indications were normal.

Title: MDT BLOWS 3 TIRES ON LNDG AND IS STRANDED ON RWY.
Narrative: LCL CTLR CLRED FLT TO LAND. SPD AND SUBSEQUENT LNDG SEEMED NORMAL. UPON T/D LCL ASKED IF WE WERE OK, THEN COMMENTED THAT SMOKE WAS COMING FROM MAIN WHEELS. AS ACFT SLOWED AND BEGAN TO SETTLE I NOTICED THE FEEL OF A FLAT TIRE. TRIED TO TAXI ACFT CLR OF RWY, BUT WAS UNABLE. DISCOVERED HAD 2 FLATS ON LEFT MAIN AND ONE FLAT ON RIGHT MAIN. HAD TO SHUT DOWN ACFT ON RWY CAUSING CLOSURE OF RWY 23 FOR APPROX 45 MINS. THIS ACFT IS THE STATE OF THE ART ACFT IN ITS CLASS AND IS LOADED WITH BLACK BOX TECHNOLOGY. PAST EXPERIENCE HAS SHOWN THAT UNIQUE OCCURRENCES ARE CAPABLE OF HAPPENING W/O BEING ABLE TO DUPLICATE FOR MAINT PERSONNEL. AS HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATED TO THIS PLT IN THE PAST, ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AIRPLANES DEMAND A DIFFERENT TYPE OF DILIGENCE ON THE PART OF A FLT CREW. IN THIS CASE, A SIMPLE ANTI-SKID SYS HAS BEEN ENGINEERED TO UNNECESSARY COMPLEXITY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 110313: DSCNTS, INITIALS AND FINAL CHKS WERE COMPLETED BY COMPANY OPERATING PROCS. ALL INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL.
