Narrative:
ATIS giving runway 34 active at ric with new first officer flying plane on IOE, shot ILS 34 to uneventful landing. During rollout which is to end of runway 34, my attention is primarily focused on first officer landing procedures. When reaching end of runway, prepared to turn aircraft off active (34) and proceed to gate. Tower quickly informs me that runway 02 is also active and to hold short. End of runway 02 is no more than 5'-10' from end of runway 34. This is a potential conflict especially if captain is not aware 02 active and has his attention focused on cockpit duties (IOE). Feel that tower could have informed us to be careful at end for possible conflict. Also I had to wait for light aircraft landing on 02 which meant the medium large transport still was on the other active (34). This made for an uncomfortable time. Either a note in airport manual or a reminder by tower would certainly help. Just a few more thoughts. I recall looking over as we slowed our landing roll at 02, to see if anyone was crossing. There was no one and I remember thinking that since ATIS only had runway 34 active, there would be no trouble at the end. Unfortunately I again became focused on IOE and forgot how close the two runways are at the end. Without the last minute call, we might have crossed 02. I guess I was anticipating clearance to cross at end!

Title: ACR MLG COMPLAINT ABOUT LATE CALL TO HOLD SHORT OF INTERSECTING RWY.
Narrative: ATIS GIVING RWY 34 ACTIVE AT RIC WITH NEW F/O FLYING PLANE ON IOE, SHOT ILS 34 TO UNEVENTFUL LNDG. DURING ROLLOUT WHICH IS TO END OF RWY 34, MY ATTN IS PRIMARILY FOCUSED ON F/O LNDG PROCS. WHEN REACHING END OF RWY, PREPARED TO TURN ACFT OFF ACTIVE (34) AND PROCEED TO GATE. TWR QUICKLY INFORMS ME THAT RWY 02 IS ALSO ACTIVE AND TO HOLD SHORT. END OF RWY 02 IS NO MORE THAN 5'-10' FROM END OF RWY 34. THIS IS A POTENTIAL CONFLICT ESPECIALLY IF CAPT IS NOT AWARE 02 ACTIVE AND HAS HIS ATTN FOCUSED ON COCKPIT DUTIES (IOE). FEEL THAT TWR COULD HAVE INFORMED US TO BE CAREFUL AT END FOR POSSIBLE CONFLICT. ALSO I HAD TO WAIT FOR LIGHT ACFT LNDG ON 02 WHICH MEANT THE MLG STILL WAS ON THE OTHER ACTIVE (34). THIS MADE FOR AN UNCOMFORTABLE TIME. EITHER A NOTE IN ARPT MANUAL OR A REMINDER BY TWR WOULD CERTAINLY HELP. JUST A FEW MORE THOUGHTS. I RECALL LOOKING OVER AS WE SLOWED OUR LNDG ROLL AT 02, TO SEE IF ANYONE WAS XING. THERE WAS NO ONE AND I REMEMBER THINKING THAT SINCE ATIS ONLY HAD RWY 34 ACTIVE, THERE WOULD BE NO TROUBLE AT THE END. UNFORTUNATELY I AGAIN BECAME FOCUSED ON IOE AND FORGOT HOW CLOSE THE TWO RWYS ARE AT THE END. WITHOUT THE LAST MINUTE CALL, WE MIGHT HAVE CROSSED 02. I GUESS I WAS ANTICIPATING CLRNC TO CROSS AT END!
