Narrative:
We have the tpx-42 system and are having ARTS installed at the present time. Only 2 scopes were working. I was working, arrival/departure west. Air carrier X departed and was given on course and 6000'. I got busy and forgot to handoff air carrier X to pit approach. The handoff line to pit was OTS and we were using a dial line. I simply got busy and forgot. Had the handoff line been working, pit approach probably would have called me directly. Pit did eventually get a hold of the tower and told them that air carrier X was radar, who then told me. Air carrier X was about 10 mi into pit airspace when I finally switched him. Factors: 1) I had been off work (vacation) for 5 days. This was the first position I worked. I took a while to get back into the swing of things with moderate traffic. 2) pit handoff line OTS. 3) aircraft called close to yng and close to other traffic that needed my attention. 4) the tpx-42 scopes are small and cluttered with codes instead of call signs. The ARTS will help eliminate clutter and provide clearer, more useful information.

Title: ACFT ENTERED ADJACENT AIRSPACE WITHOUT COORD.
Narrative: WE HAVE THE TPX-42 SYS AND ARE HAVING ARTS INSTALLED AT THE PRESENT TIME. ONLY 2 SCOPES WERE WORKING. I WAS WORKING, ARR/DEP W. ACR X DEPARTED AND WAS GIVEN ON COURSE AND 6000'. I GOT BUSY AND FORGOT TO HDOF ACR X TO PIT APCH. THE HDOF LINE TO PIT WAS OTS AND WE WERE USING A DIAL LINE. I SIMPLY GOT BUSY AND FORGOT. HAD THE HDOF LINE BEEN WORKING, PIT APCH PROBABLY WOULD HAVE CALLED ME DIRECTLY. PIT DID EVENTUALLY GET A HOLD OF THE TWR AND TOLD THEM THAT ACR X WAS RADAR, WHO THEN TOLD ME. ACR X WAS ABOUT 10 MI INTO PIT AIRSPACE WHEN I FINALLY SWITCHED HIM. FACTORS: 1) I HAD BEEN OFF WORK (VACATION) FOR 5 DAYS. THIS WAS THE FIRST POS I WORKED. I TOOK A WHILE TO GET BACK INTO THE SWING OF THINGS WITH MODERATE TFC. 2) PIT HDOF LINE OTS. 3) ACFT CALLED CLOSE TO YNG AND CLOSE TO OTHER TFC THAT NEEDED MY ATTN. 4) THE TPX-42 SCOPES ARE SMALL AND CLUTTERED WITH CODES INSTEAD OF CALL SIGNS. THE ARTS WILL HELP ELIMINATE CLUTTER AND PROVIDE CLEARER, MORE USEFUL INFO.
