Narrative:
While on a flight from pbi to mia in VFR we were cleared for a visual approached to 9L at mia. The captain said airport in sight. We turned toward airport and asked approach control to verify airport at 11 O'clock. Controller said ok we had ILS 9L on radios with a right of course indication. When rolling out we knew it was not mia but opa locka. Just north of mia the controller had said 4 mi to mia. It was more like 10-15 mi. We then got radar vectors to mia for ILS 9L. A duty day that started at XG00 till XT00 hours with 8 legs. Controller was not giving good vectors due to VFR WX clearing for a visual way too far out. He had to know we were not close enough to mia to send us to tower frequency. No compass locator on ILS 9L mia.
