Narrative:
We departed the gate at sjc, taxied to the runway and were cleared to turn right on 'a' taxiway, switch to tower. We switched and after a short hold, we were cleared into position and hold. We held in position for approximately 2 mins at which time we saw another medium large transport aircraft above us in landing position. The medium large transport landed beyond the threshold about 1000' down from us.

Title: FLT CREW OF MLG CLEARED INTO POSITION ON THE RWY AT NIGHT SAW ANOTHER MLG LAND OVER THEM.
Narrative: WE DEPARTED THE GATE AT SJC, TAXIED TO THE RWY AND WERE CLRED TO TURN RIGHT ON 'A' TXWY, SWITCH TO TWR. WE SWITCHED AND AFTER A SHORT HOLD, WE WERE CLRED INTO POSITION AND HOLD. WE HELD IN POSITION FOR APPROX 2 MINS AT WHICH TIME WE SAW ANOTHER MLG ACFT ABOVE US IN LNDG POSITION. THE MLG LANDED BEYOND THE THRESHOLD ABOUT 1000' DOWN FROM US.
