Narrative:
I was flying VFR at 3200' MSL from cgi to 3LF. I spotted an aircraft at 11 O'clock and below me about 10 degrees, and at a distance of about 2 mi. The aircraft at first looked like it would pass beneath and ahead of me on an e-erly heading. The aircraft, in fact, was making a climbing right turn into my line of flight, coming right at me. We were on a collision course. I pulled my power to idle and pointed the nose of my aircraft down at a sharp angle to avoid the collision. The aircraft passed over me. I leveled off at 2200' MSL and saw the aircraft out of my left side window, climbing southwest-erly. This aircraft was a large jet airliner, like an large transport. The small aircraft I was flying has no transponder, no mode C. I flew a course of 03 degrees from the cape girardeau VOR to greenville, il, to stay well clear of the stl TCA and scott AFB. Visibility was 20 mi, but it was hazy looking in the direction of the sun. I don't believe the jet saw me for he made no change in his direction of flight. I believe that this incident occurred because ATC did not inform the jet of any traffic in his flight path.

Title: CLOSE PROX ACR-LGT GA-SMA.
Narrative: I WAS FLYING VFR AT 3200' MSL FROM CGI TO 3LF. I SPOTTED AN ACFT AT 11 O'CLOCK AND BELOW ME ABOUT 10 DEGS, AND AT A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 2 MI. THE ACFT AT FIRST LOOKED LIKE IT WOULD PASS BENEATH AND AHEAD OF ME ON AN E-ERLY HDG. THE ACFT, IN FACT, WAS MAKING A CLBING RIGHT TURN INTO MY LINE OF FLT, COMING RIGHT AT ME. WE WERE ON A COLLISION COURSE. I PULLED MY PWR TO IDLE AND POINTED THE NOSE OF MY ACFT DOWN AT A SHARP ANGLE TO AVOID THE COLLISION. THE ACFT PASSED OVER ME. I LEVELED OFF AT 2200' MSL AND SAW THE ACFT OUT OF MY LEFT SIDE WINDOW, CLBING SW-ERLY. THIS ACFT WAS A LARGE JET AIRLINER, LIKE AN LGT. THE SMA I WAS FLYING HAS NO XPONDER, NO MODE C. I FLEW A COURSE OF 03 DEGS FROM THE CAPE GIRARDEAU VOR TO GREENVILLE, IL, TO STAY WELL CLR OF THE STL TCA AND SCOTT AFB. VISIBILITY WAS 20 MI, BUT IT WAS HAZY LOOKING IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SUN. I DON'T BELIEVE THE JET SAW ME FOR HE MADE NO CHANGE IN HIS DIRECTION OF FLT. I BELIEVE THAT THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED BECAUSE ATC DID NOT INFORM THE JET OF ANY TFC IN HIS FLT PATH.
