Narrative:
We took off from 25R at fra. We were cleared for the foxtoif SID. The foxtoif is a takeoff on heading from 25R to the fra 5.5 mi DME, a right turn to 280 degree heading to intercept the fra VOR 261 degree right. When at 3000' AGL and the radial has been intercepted, a turn to taunus VOR direct. I was thinking of selecting LNAV and updating FMS aircraft position direct taunus, however I delayed since I was watching my basic airwork. There were moderate and gusty surface winds making the departure turbulent. It was IMC. I was also getting an errant pitch command on my flight director and had to reselect a pitch command. Tracking into taunus VOR we were cleared to 9000'. I put in the altitude. We had passed taunus VOR. The SID proceeds from taunus VOR out the 332 degree right to barman VOR. I selected automatic-tune on my VOR receiver, LNAV mode, and programmed aircraft direct barman on the FMS. I realized that I took out the desired 'from' point of taunus in the FMS by selecting aircraft direct barman. I was left of course. I decided to radio navigation back to the desired radial and then update the FMS. I thought I had deselected my VOR receiver from automatic-tune to manual. I did not. I was watching my #2 needle which had us on about the 330 degree right, so I took a 30 degree cut to the right to correct back. Fra departure called us to ask if we were proceeding to barman. The captain asked fra if we were right of course. Fra said yes--about 10 mi. I realized I was still in automatic-tune and was looking at something other than taunus on my #2 needle. Fra told us to go direct barman. I was distracted with basic airwork, IMC conditions, setting altitude and an errant pitch command. I then made an improper route change in the FMS and put myself between LNAV and RNAV. I should have been using my captain more instead of trying to everything myself.

Title: ACR WDB DEVIATED FROM CLRNC ROUTE ON SID FROM FRA.
Narrative: WE TOOK OFF FROM 25R AT FRA. WE WERE CLRED FOR THE FOXTOIF SID. THE FOXTOIF IS A TKOF ON HDG FROM 25R TO THE FRA 5.5 MI DME, A RIGHT TURN TO 280 DEG HDG TO INTERCEPT THE FRA VOR 261 DEG R. WHEN AT 3000' AGL AND THE RADIAL HAS BEEN INTERCEPTED, A TURN TO TAUNUS VOR DIRECT. I WAS THINKING OF SELECTING LNAV AND UPDATING FMS ACFT POS DIRECT TAUNUS, HOWEVER I DELAYED SINCE I WAS WATCHING MY BASIC AIRWORK. THERE WERE MODERATE AND GUSTY SURFACE WINDS MAKING THE DEP TURBULENT. IT WAS IMC. I WAS ALSO GETTING AN ERRANT PITCH COMMAND ON MY FLT DIRECTOR AND HAD TO RESELECT A PITCH COMMAND. TRACKING INTO TAUNUS VOR WE WERE CLRED TO 9000'. I PUT IN THE ALT. WE HAD PASSED TAUNUS VOR. THE SID PROCEEDS FROM TAUNUS VOR OUT THE 332 DEG R TO BARMAN VOR. I SELECTED AUTO-TUNE ON MY VOR RECEIVER, LNAV MODE, AND PROGRAMMED ACFT DIRECT BARMAN ON THE FMS. I REALIZED THAT I TOOK OUT THE DESIRED 'FROM' POINT OF TAUNUS IN THE FMS BY SELECTING ACFT DIRECT BARMAN. I WAS LEFT OF COURSE. I DECIDED TO RADIO NAV BACK TO THE DESIRED RADIAL AND THEN UPDATE THE FMS. I THOUGHT I HAD DESELECTED MY VOR RECEIVER FROM AUTO-TUNE TO MANUAL. I DID NOT. I WAS WATCHING MY #2 NEEDLE WHICH HAD US ON ABOUT THE 330 DEG R, SO I TOOK A 30 DEG CUT TO THE RIGHT TO CORRECT BACK. FRA DEP CALLED US TO ASK IF WE WERE PROCEEDING TO BARMAN. THE CAPT ASKED FRA IF WE WERE RIGHT OF COURSE. FRA SAID YES--ABOUT 10 MI. I REALIZED I WAS STILL IN AUTO-TUNE AND WAS LOOKING AT SOMETHING OTHER THAN TAUNUS ON MY #2 NEEDLE. FRA TOLD US TO GO DIRECT BARMAN. I WAS DISTRACTED WITH BASIC AIRWORK, IMC CONDITIONS, SETTING ALT AND AN ERRANT PITCH COMMAND. I THEN MADE AN IMPROPER RTE CHANGE IN THE FMS AND PUT MYSELF BTWN LNAV AND RNAV. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN USING MY CAPT MORE INSTEAD OF TRYING TO EVERYTHING MYSELF.
