Narrative:

This is or has become a standard occurrence and is getting dangerous due to parallel approachs in atl. Atl approach, in order to keep traffic flowing, keeps traffic at 210-250 KTS until close in. Recently, they have had us on a 135 degree intercept angle (30 degrees to the outbnd course for spacing). ATC does not realize the resulting radius required to turn aircraft 135 degrees around for localizer intercept. At these speeds, bring us close in, a late clearance to turn to intercept causes aircraft to fly through localizer even in excess of 45 degree bank!! IFR flight director bank angles are 25 degrees maximum and standard maximum in IFR is 30 degrees. You can imagine what this feels like to passenger! And we know parallel approachs are in progress leaving little choice in order to avoid conflict. On this approach, landing 26R atl we were given headings of 180 degrees, 150 degrees, 120 degrees with an immediate turn to 240 degrees for intercept. We went through localizer as we went through 190 degrees with a 45 degree bank! I called this to my first officer who was already turning to 290 degrees when directed by ATC to same. We are bringing this to our chief pilot and I have also called atl ATC on this problem.

Title: ACR REQUIRED TO KEEP SPEED UP ON DOWNWIND AND ISSUED A 135 DEGREE INTERCEPT. ACFT WENT THROUGH LOCALIZER TO REINTERCEPT.

Narrative: THIS IS OR HAS BECOME A STANDARD OCCURRENCE AND IS GETTING DANGEROUS DUE TO PARALLEL APCHS IN ATL. ATL APCH, IN ORDER TO KEEP TFC FLOWING, KEEPS TFC AT 210-250 KTS UNTIL CLOSE IN. RECENTLY, THEY HAVE HAD US ON A 135 DEG INTERCEPT ANGLE (30 DEGS TO THE OUTBND COURSE FOR SPACING). ATC DOES NOT REALIZE THE RESULTING RADIUS REQUIRED TO TURN ACFT 135 DEGS AROUND FOR LOC INTERCEPT. AT THESE SPDS, BRING US CLOSE IN, A LATE CLRNC TO TURN TO INTERCEPT CAUSES ACFT TO FLY THROUGH LOC EVEN IN EXCESS OF 45 DEG BANK!! IFR FLT DIRECTOR BANK ANGLES ARE 25 DEGS MAX AND STANDARD MAX IN IFR IS 30 DEGS. YOU CAN IMAGINE WHAT THIS FEELS LIKE TO PAX! AND WE KNOW PARALLEL APCHS ARE IN PROGRESS LEAVING LITTLE CHOICE IN ORDER TO AVOID CONFLICT. ON THIS APCH, LNDG 26R ATL WE WERE GIVEN HDGS OF 180 DEGS, 150 DEGS, 120 DEGS WITH AN IMMEDIATE TURN TO 240 DEGS FOR INTERCEPT. WE WENT THROUGH LOC AS WE WENT THROUGH 190 DEGS WITH A 45 DEG BANK! I CALLED THIS TO MY F/O WHO WAS ALREADY TURNING TO 290 DEGS WHEN DIRECTED BY ATC TO SAME. WE ARE BRINGING THIS TO OUR CHIEF PLT AND I HAVE ALSO CALLED ATL ATC ON THIS PROB.
