Narrative:
Medium large transport X lands runway 09R, is instructed in a timely manner to exit at last high speed taxiway exit and acknowledges for instructions. Second aircraft, an medium large transport Y, is cleared to land also, in accordance with FAA 7110.65E. First medium large transport X does not exit as instructed. Second medium large transport Y is instructed to go around, but continues and lands as medium large transport X aircraft exits at runway end even though medium large transport Y acknowledged for go around. #1 medium large transport X asked on 3 mi final if he could exit and taxi via ff (2000' closer to approach end of the runway rather than gg, where he was eventually told to exit), but is told to plan standard arrival and taxi due to heavy outbnd traffic. Did the pilot deliberately miss gg to expedite his arrival at gate? Second medium large transport Y was sent around very short final, acknowledged for control instruction, but proceeded to land anyway. Why? WX, along with the second arrival landing with no landing light, contributed to this occurrence.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR MLG ROLLED PAST TURNOFF HE WAS INSTRUCTED TO USE AND FOLLOWING MLG LANDS AFTER BEING TOLD TO GO AROUND.
Narrative: MLG X LANDS RWY 09R, IS INSTRUCTED IN A TIMELY MANNER TO EXIT AT LAST HIGH SPD TXWY EXIT AND ACKNOWLEDGES FOR INSTRUCTIONS. SECOND ACFT, AN MLG Y, IS CLRED TO LAND ALSO, IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAA 7110.65E. FIRST MLG X DOES NOT EXIT AS INSTRUCTED. SECOND MLG Y IS INSTRUCTED TO GO AROUND, BUT CONTINUES AND LANDS AS MLG X ACFT EXITS AT RWY END EVEN THOUGH MLG Y ACKNOWLEDGED FOR GAR. #1 MLG X ASKED ON 3 MI FINAL IF HE COULD EXIT AND TAXI VIA FF (2000' CLOSER TO APCH END OF THE RWY RATHER THAN GG, WHERE HE WAS EVENTUALLY TOLD TO EXIT), BUT IS TOLD TO PLAN STANDARD ARR AND TAXI DUE TO HEAVY OUTBND TFC. DID THE PLT DELIBERATELY MISS GG TO EXPEDITE HIS ARR AT GATE? SECOND MLG Y WAS SENT AROUND VERY SHORT FINAL, ACKNOWLEDGED FOR CTL INSTRUCTION, BUT PROCEEDED TO LAND ANYWAY. WHY? WX, ALONG WITH THE SECOND ARR LNDG WITH NO LNDG LIGHT, CONTRIBUTED TO THIS OCCURRENCE.
