Narrative:
Clearance was read back climb to 3000' upon runway heading at 4500' turn left to 180 degree heading. After takeoff level at 3000' departure said we had missed our turn. We had told him we were instructed to turn at 4500'. He then gave us a tight turn to 170 degree and issued traffic. TCAS gave us a resolution to descend 2000 FPM. We then saw the traffic no descent was required. Supplemental information from acn 173738. Clearance was given left turn to 180 degree at 1500' MSL; readback was left to 180 degree at 4500' MSL with clearance to 3000' MSL.
