Narrative:
We were cleared for a visual to runway 26R den. As we lined up on final, an light transport was cleared for a visual to runway 26L. He reported that he had us in sight. This was relayed to us by approach control. As the light transport approached the runway 26L final, we got a TCASII TA and our scan shifted to the light transport. Our attention was diverted for a considerable time as the light transport continued his flight path toward us and the runway. We continued to get TA's. Once it became apparent there would be no conflict, we were past the point in our approach where we would have normally switched to the tower. We continued our approach and landing. We discovered we were on approach control frequency as we cleared the runway. Factors: fatigue (end of 2 long days) -- approach control failed to switch us to tower. -- Close proximity of the light transport on final approach with attendant TA's on the TCASII.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN ACR LGT LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL TO RWY 26R DEN. AS WE LINED UP ON FINAL, AN LTT WAS CLRED FOR A VISUAL TO RWY 26L. HE RPTED THAT HE HAD US IN SIGHT. THIS WAS RELAYED TO US BY APCH CTL. AS THE LTT APCHED THE RWY 26L FINAL, WE GOT A TCASII TA AND OUR SCAN SHIFTED TO THE LTT. OUR ATTN WAS DIVERTED FOR A CONSIDERABLE TIME AS THE LTT CONTINUED HIS FLT PATH TOWARD US AND THE RWY. WE CONTINUED TO GET TA'S. ONCE IT BECAME APPARENT THERE WOULD BE NO CONFLICT, WE WERE PAST THE POINT IN OUR APCH WHERE WE WOULD HAVE NORMALLY SWITCHED TO THE TWR. WE CONTINUED OUR APCH AND LNDG. WE DISCOVERED WE WERE ON APCH CTL FREQ AS WE CLRED THE RWY. FACTORS: FATIGUE (END OF 2 LONG DAYS) -- APCH CTL FAILED TO SWITCH US TO TWR. -- CLOSE PROX OF THE LTT ON FINAL APCH WITH ATTENDANT TA'S ON THE TCASII.
