Narrative:
On takeoff 12L stl jan/fri/93, at 600 AGL, right engine quit. Straight out departure asked for requested 3000. However, at 2000 we leveled off just below overcast. Advised tower we leveled off but received no reply. Checklists completed. Tower asked if we wanted runway 6 for arrival to expedite landing. Declined offer -- asked for runway 12R ILS. Tower requested passenger on board and fuel load. Also advised we had no hazardous cargo on board. Normal single engine approach made. No emergency declared, but tower called out equipment. Emergency equipment released after aircraft looked over by tower.
