Narrative:
Flying from wilkes county to sandhills VOR then 158 degree radial to cypress bay, came upon airport with 4 runways with tower. Contacted myrtle beach, advised that I was lost but over a controled airport with one of the runways being 35. Was advised that radar service was down and to contact a station that I didn't understand, asking to repeat I got no reply. After trying to get a fix on my position without any luck, I broadcasted that I was going to land at the airport. Traffic was light, visibility was good and I knew the controllers below would have a fix on me. I felt confident that I could land without any problem, and did. After landing at wilmington I talked to the people in the tower and explained the situation. After leaving wilmington, picked up multi engine instrument rated pilot at cypress bay for trip back to wilkes county. We discovered that the NDB was giving erratic swings, #2 navigation had quit working and #1 navigation only worked 50 percent of the time.
