Narrative:
I was told by station personnel that I did some damage to an aircraft while parking at gate at lga. At the time, personnel was changing an engine on their aircraft at their gate directly across the ramp from our gate. It is my understanding that the jet blast from our aircraft caused a light cart to be blown into the trailing edge of the aircraft and causing a 2 inch by 6 inch gash. I have no way of knowing whether the brakes were set on the light cart. I was using all 3 engines because of close proximity to ground equipment and using the minimum power necessary to keep moving to make the tight turn into the gate. I believe the solution to the problem is to tow aircraft into the gates at lga.
