Narrative:
Flight attendant reported passenger ill with symptoms similar to an appendicitis. After interviewing the passenger, I agree, passenger was suffering from severe pain, the abdomen was painful for him to touch. He said he felt delirious. I advised the flight attendants to prepare the cabin for landing. I contacted ZDC and my company and told them we were diverting to dca for a medical emergency. ATC was very helpful in expediting our arrival into dca. An ambulance was waiting at the gate, and took the passenger to national hospital. His present condition is unknown.
