Narrative:
We were cleared to taxi from T5 via taxiway left to runway 2R. We were performing our preflight checks on taxiway left. The taxiway takes a slight left jog to stay on taxiway left while L8 is straight ahead. We continued straight ahead and did not turn down the left jog but rather continued straight and wound up at the runway 31 threshold. The taxiway left sign was an arrow set off to the left side already on the jog. No L8 sign was noted. This was uneventful, however, it did delay the flow and in bad WX could have resulted in possibly more dangerous consequences. Suggest the signs be better placed to insure turn or the jog be labeled and 'left' become the straight parallel taxiway.

Title: TAXI ON WRONG TXWY DUE TO POOR SIGNAGE.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI FROM T5 VIA TXWY L TO RWY 2R. WE WERE PERFORMING OUR PREFLT CHKS ON TXWY L. THE TXWY TAKES A SLIGHT L JOG TO STAY ON TXWY L WHILE L8 IS STRAIGHT AHEAD. WE CONTINUED STRAIGHT AHEAD AND DID NOT TURN DOWN THE L JOG BUT RATHER CONTINUED STRAIGHT AND WOUND UP AT THE RWY 31 THRESHOLD. THE TXWY L SIGN WAS AN ARROW SET OFF TO THE L SIDE ALREADY ON THE JOG. NO L8 SIGN WAS NOTED. THIS WAS UNEVENTFUL, HOWEVER, IT DID DELAY THE FLOW AND IN BAD WX COULD HAVE RESULTED IN POSSIBLY MORE DANGEROUS CONSEQUENCES. SUGGEST THE SIGNS BE BETTER PLACED TO INSURE TURN OR THE JOG BE LABELED AND 'L' BECOME THE STRAIGHT PARALLEL TXWY.
