Narrative:
Captain was flying night visual approach runway 36R in mco. He got slow just prior to touchdown, increased the altitude, touched down firm and immediately deployed the thrust reversers causing them to contact runway. If I had been more alert as to the aircraft's altitude, I might have given him a call.

Title: CAPT OF ACR MLG (MD80) STRUCK THE ENG REVERSERS DURING LNDG ROLL DUE TO AN EXCESSIVE NOSE HIGH PITCH ATTITUDE DURING LNDG TOUCHDOWN.
Narrative: CAPT WAS FLYING NIGHT VISUAL APCH RWY 36R IN MCO. HE GOT SLOW JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN, INCREASED THE ALT, TOUCHED DOWN FIRM AND IMMEDIATELY DEPLOYED THE THRUST REVERSERS CAUSING THEM TO CONTACT RWY. IF I HAD BEEN MORE ALERT AS TO THE ACFT'S ALT, I MIGHT HAVE GIVEN HIM A CALL.
