Narrative:
I was in traffic pattern having completed 2 previous touch- and-goes. This was to be a complete stop. While on downwind after lowering 15 degrees of flaps but prior to lowering of gear, another aircraft was heard on the radio in the traffic pattern. I stopped the checklist to acquire the aircraft visually. For unknown reasons, I did not go back and finish checklist. On very short final I noticed full flaps but no green lights on gear. I applied full power for go around at this time. I had an uneventful go around and completed the landing. An inspection of the aircraft revealed minor damage. I cannot explain how this happened other than the checklist was broken and not completed. I have instituted a second short final check of flaps and gear to try and prevent this from happening in the future.
