Narrative:

Initial clearance from mexico city to orlando was climb to and maintain FL370. After airborne crew determined we were still too heavy for FL370 and a final cruise altitude of FL330 was assigned by mexico city center. We were handed off to merida center in a non-radar environment. When we position reported novek intersection at FL330 merida center believed our assigned from mexico city to be at FL370. Mexico center did not, apparently, give merida center an amended altitude of FL330. This caused merida center concern, given the possibility of potential traffic conflict. It was also reported to mexico city center, the crew reported level at FL330 under radar control to mexico city center.

Title: MLG SHOWS UP AT WRONG ALT WHEN XING A FOREIGN ASSIGNED FIX DUE TO A LACK OF ATC COORD.

Narrative: INITIAL CLRNC FROM MEXICO CITY TO ORLANDO WAS CLB TO AND MAINTAIN FL370. AFTER AIRBORNE CREW DETERMINED WE WERE STILL TOO HVY FOR FL370 AND A FINAL CRUISE ALT OF FL330 WAS ASSIGNED BY MEXICO CITY CTR. WE WERE HANDED OFF TO MERIDA CTR IN A NON-RADAR ENVIRONMENT. WHEN WE POS RPTED NOVEK INTXN AT FL330 MERIDA CTR BELIEVED OUR ASSIGNED FROM MEXICO CITY TO BE AT FL370. MEXICO CTR DID NOT, APPARENTLY, GIVE MERIDA CTR AN AMENDED ALT OF FL330. THIS CAUSED MERIDA CTR CONCERN, GIVEN THE POSSIBILITY OF POTENTIAL TFC CONFLICT. IT WAS ALSO RPTED TO MEXICO CITY CTR, THE CREW RPTED LEVEL AT FL330 UNDER RADAR CTL TO MEXICO CITY CTR.
