Narrative:

The first officer and I were occupied with non-flight related actions. After crossing over the etx VOR, and through flight plan repetition, we began to fly the flight plan that had been filed in the past. This particular day the flight plan was different, unbeknownst to us because we failed to check it. ZNY notified us just southwest of the etx VOR and we corrected course immediately.

Narrative: THE FO AND I WERE OCCUPIED WITH NON-FLT RELATED ACTIONS. AFTER XING OVER THE ETX VOR, AND THROUGH FLT PLAN REPETITION, WE BEGAN TO FLY THE FLT PLAN THAT HAD BEEN FILED IN THE PAST. THIS PARTICULAR DAY THE FLT PLAN WAS DIFFERENT, UNBEKNOWNST TO US BECAUSE WE FAILED TO CHK IT. ZNY NOTIFIED US JUST SW OF THE ETX VOR AND WE CORRECTED COURSE IMMEDIATELY.
