Narrative:

Clearance was to 6000 ft MSL. Tower assigned 330 degree heading for previous departing traffic from runway 23L at tys. As we were climbing through 3000 ft MSL, and after handoff to departure on tower assigned heading, departure called traffic, a beech turbo propeller at 4000 ft at 10 O'clock position. Aircraft was not in sight. Got reported traffic on TCASII, and showed level at 4000 ft (plus 1000 ft above us) and closing. Absent a different cleared altitude from ATC, continued climb to 6000 ft as cleared. ATC gave reported traffic an immediate right turn to 180 degrees and our TCASII advisory was 'monitor vertical speed,' and repeated 2-4 times, with a climb of plus 2000 FPM. Apparently, there was a missed altitude restr given to us, by us, or by ATC. After the occurrence neither the first officer or myself could recall any climb restrs by tower, departure, or clearance delivery. This is the 3RD time in last 12 months that TCASII has been a very valuable tool in traffic separation, and I believe it is important in light of the congested flight areas we operate in. I am glad to have it.

Title: MLG HAS TCASII RA ON CLBOUT. EVASIVE ACTION TAKEN.

Narrative: CLRNC WAS TO 6000 FT MSL. TWR ASSIGNED 330 DEG HDG FOR PREVIOUS DEPARTING TFC FROM RWY 23L AT TYS. AS WE WERE CLBING THROUGH 3000 FT MSL, AND AFTER HDOF TO DEP ON TWR ASSIGNED HDG, DEP CALLED TFC, A BEECH TURBO PROP AT 4000 FT AT 10 O'CLOCK POS. ACFT WAS NOT IN SIGHT. GOT RPTED TFC ON TCASII, AND SHOWED LEVEL AT 4000 FT (PLUS 1000 FT ABOVE US) AND CLOSING. ABSENT A DIFFERENT CLRED ALT FROM ATC, CONTINUED CLB TO 6000 FT AS CLRED. ATC GAVE RPTED TFC AN IMMEDIATE R TURN TO 180 DEGS AND OUR TCASII ADVISORY WAS 'MONITOR VERT SPD,' AND REPEATED 2-4 TIMES, WITH A CLB OF PLUS 2000 FPM. APPARENTLY, THERE WAS A MISSED ALT RESTR GIVEN TO US, BY US, OR BY ATC. AFTER THE OCCURRENCE NEITHER THE FO OR MYSELF COULD RECALL ANY CLB RESTRS BY TWR, DEP, OR CLRNC DELIVERY. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IN LAST 12 MONTHS THAT TCASII HAS BEEN A VERY VALUABLE TOOL IN TFC SEPARATION, AND I BELIEVE IT IS IMPORTANT IN LIGHT OF THE CONGESTED FLT AREAS WE OPERATE IN. I AM GLAD TO HAVE IT.
