Narrative:
Cleared for takeoff at ama in md-80. When throttles advanced got stabilizer voice warning from cockpit aural warning (CAWS). Couldn't see anything obviously wrong so at approximately 20 KIAS aborted takeoff, called tower and taxied clear at next intersection. When clear, talked to passenger, then investigated problem. All settings, center of gravity selector, trim tab and flaps were correct. We then recycled the flaps back up then down. Warning still sounded. We then ran trim up 2 units then back to previous setting. No more aural warnings were heard. We ran takeoff checks again, talked to passenger, and were cleared by tower for takeoff. We had been flying this aircraft from ewr-dfw-ama and were proceeding back to dfw. I considered this a normal chain of events until I was advised to submit this report because of a question on someone's part about the reason for the abort then continuing the takeoff.

Title: MD-80 FLC EXPERIENCES STABILIZER COCKPIT AURAL WARNING ON TKOF ROLL. ABORT.
Narrative: CLRED FOR TKOF AT AMA IN MD-80. WHEN THROTTLES ADVANCED GOT STABILIZER VOICE WARNING FROM COCKPIT AURAL WARNING (CAWS). COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING OBVIOUSLY WRONG SO AT APPROX 20 KIAS ABORTED TKOF, CALLED TWR AND TAXIED CLR AT NEXT INTXN. WHEN CLR, TALKED TO PAX, THEN INVESTIGATED PROB. ALL SETTINGS, CTR OF GRAVITY SELECTOR, TRIM TAB AND FLAPS WERE CORRECT. WE THEN RECYCLED THE FLAPS BACK UP THEN DOWN. WARNING STILL SOUNDED. WE THEN RAN TRIM UP 2 UNITS THEN BACK TO PREVIOUS SETTING. NO MORE AURAL WARNINGS WERE HEARD. WE RAN TKOF CHKS AGAIN, TALKED TO PAX, AND WERE CLRED BY TWR FOR TKOF. WE HAD BEEN FLYING THIS ACFT FROM EWR-DFW-AMA AND WERE PROCEEDING BACK TO DFW. I CONSIDERED THIS A NORMAL CHAIN OF EVENTS UNTIL I WAS ADVISED TO SUBMIT THIS RPT BECAUSE OF A QUESTION ON SOMEONE'S PART ABOUT THE REASON FOR THE ABORT THEN CONTINUING THE TKOF.
