Narrative:
While on the ponee #1 arrival to isp, ZBW cleared us to cross wipor intersection at 11000 ft then slow to 250 KTS. Captain was flying and misread DME defining wipor intersection. First officer was out of the loop getting ATIS and accomplishing the descent checklist. Prior to wipor intersection, ATC asked us to report leaving 12000 ft, then asked us to say our altitude. We were crossing wipor intersection at 12600 ft, missing our crossing intersection restr by 1600 ft. Once on the ground, ZBW was contacted by phone and advised the crew that no violation occurred.
