Narrative:

On arrival at las I overshot the stop point by about 4 ft. The guideman was going to hook up the tug to push us back. When I saw this, I visually asked if we should pwrback the 4 ft so we could mate the jetbridge and deplane. We did the short pwrback and deplaned. Although the seat belt sign was on, I understand some passenger were up and out of their seats. In retrospect, I understand I should have been pushed back and should not have conducted the pwrback.
