Narrative:
I was cleared to cross 70 DME southwest of rosewood (rod) VOR at FL290, I was at FL330. I was still quite some distance from rod and I got distracted by a conversation that was going on in the cockpit between the first officer and one of the male flight attendants. About 78 DME from rod center asked if I was going to make it down to FL290 in time. I had completely forgotten. So I made a maximum descent and got down level at FL290 at 69 DME. I hope that was good enough, but technically I was late. No excuses, I goofed!!
