Narrative:
I was in the traffic pattern at dkx airport and executed 4 night touch and go takeoffs and lndgs. During the lndgs, abeam the beginning of runway 8, I reduced the power to idle to practice power off lndgs. During one approach I executed a go around because I knew I'd be too low. I was never below red over white on the VASI, however. When I returned to my home base, TN98, I was informed by the airport manager that the police had called him informing him that they had received a few 911 calls about my plane crashing. Some contributing factors might be: it was night and people on the ground couldn't tell whether the plane was in trouble or not. There are houses along the approach to runway 8. In the future I would think it wise to limit power off approachs to day flts and announce on the radio that I'm doing power off approachs.
