Narrative:
Cleared to cross twinz intersection at 11000 ft MSL, inadvertently continued descent to 10700 ft MSL then returned to 11000 ft. This is a relatively new arrival procedure. Previous arrival from this routing required a 10000 ft MSL crossing in same area. We were switching to approach control at this time of level off, and I believe familiarity with old arrival altitudes (10000 ft) caused the undershoot of the new (11000 ft) altitude at this relatively close intersection.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF AN MLG OVERSHOT DSCNT ALT DURING A STAR ARR.
Narrative: CLRED TO CROSS TWINZ INTXN AT 11000 FT MSL, INADVERTENTLY CONTINUED DSCNT TO 10700 FT MSL THEN RETURNED TO 11000 FT. THIS IS A RELATIVELY NEW ARR PROC. PREVIOUS ARR FROM THIS ROUTING REQUIRED A 10000 FT MSL XING IN SAME AREA. WE WERE SWITCHING TO APCH CTL AT THIS TIME OF LEVEL OFF, AND I BELIEVE FAMILIARITY WITH OLD ARR ALTS (10000 FT) CAUSED THE UNDERSHOOT OF THE NEW (11000 FT) ALT AT THIS RELATIVELY CLOSE INTXN.
