Narrative:
On takeoff climb out of lax through 1200 ft received a TA on TCASII. We were cleared to maintain 2000 ft. Approaching 2000 ft we received an RA visual on the TCASII followed by an RA audio to climb now. We continued the climb to 3000 ft while informing departure control of our actions. After leveloff we asked departure if they wanted us to descend back to 2000 ft. They said no and the remainder of the flight was uneventful.
