Narrative:

Tailskid contacted runway during rotation for takeoff on runway 18L at dfw. Aircraft weight = 171500 pounds (fairly heavy for B727). Temperature about 80 degrees F, slight crosswind. Aircraft deck angle approximately 9-10 degrees nose up. I think a combination of heavy aircraft, warm temperature, rotation to limit and possibly a load/center of gravity unexpected caused tailskid to contact runway.

Title: B727 TAILSKID STRUCK RWY DURING TKOF.

Narrative: TAILSKID CONTACTED RWY DURING ROTATION FOR TKOF ON RWY 18L AT DFW. ACFT WT = 171500 LBS (FAIRLY HVY FOR B727). TEMP ABOUT 80 DEGS F, SLIGHT XWIND. ACFT DECK ANGLE APPROX 9-10 DEGS NOSE UP. I THINK A COMBINATION OF HVY ACFT, WARM TEMP, ROTATION TO LIMIT AND POSSIBLY A LOAD/CTR OF GRAVITY UNEXPECTED CAUSED TAILSKID TO CONTACT RWY.
