Narrative:

We were cleared to descend to 5000 ft, and we overshot. We do not have altitude alerters and we are not required to have them. The PNF missed the calls of '6000 ft for 5000 ft,' and '200 ft to go' because of the high workload in the approach environment. Having an altitude alerter would certainly have prevented this.
