Narrative:
The following is information regarding flight xx, an aborted takeoff. After being cleared for takeoff on runway 6 at bdl, as I advanced the power I heard an aural sound. I assumed it was the flight attendant, after which we also got the confign warning. I aborted takeoff at which time tower asked what was the problem. I thought the flight attendant called during a critical phase of flight. (I assumed that a passenger got up out of his or her seat.) as we returned to the taxiway and stopped the aircraft, I called the flight attendant to see if she had called, she did not call. After which we tested the confign warning system and it checked ok, with no light illuminating and no warning. We taxied back for takeoff and did all the checklists. Again, we were cleared for takeoff on runway 6, and I advanced the power and got the confign warning. I aborted the takeoff and taxied back to the gate. During taxiing back to the gate, I noticed the parking brake light coming on and off, with it staying on after about 15 seconds. At the gate I wrote the discrepancy in the logbook. Maintenance discovered a faulty switch in the parking brake handle.

Title: TKOF ABORTED TWICE IN AN AT72. MASTER CAUTION ACFT CONFIGN WARNING. PIC HAD THOUGHT IT WAS A CABIN ATTENDANT CALL ON FIRST EVENT. HAD HEARD AUDITORY SIGNAL.
Narrative: THE FOLLOWING IS INFO REGARDING FLT XX, AN ABORTED TKOF. AFTER BEING CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 6 AT BDL, AS I ADVANCED THE PWR I HEARD AN AURAL SOUND. I ASSUMED IT WAS THE FLT ATTENDANT, AFTER WHICH WE ALSO GOT THE CONFIGN WARNING. I ABORTED TKOF AT WHICH TIME TWR ASKED WHAT WAS THE PROB. I THOUGHT THE FLT ATTENDANT CALLED DURING A CRITICAL PHASE OF FLT. (I ASSUMED THAT A PAX GOT UP OUT OF HIS OR HER SEAT.) AS WE RETURNED TO THE TXWY AND STOPPED THE ACFT, I CALLED THE FLT ATTENDANT TO SEE IF SHE HAD CALLED, SHE DID NOT CALL. AFTER WHICH WE TESTED THE CONFIGN WARNING SYS AND IT CHKED OK, WITH NO LIGHT ILLUMINATING AND NO WARNING. WE TAXIED BACK FOR TKOF AND DID ALL THE CHKLISTS. AGAIN, WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 6, AND I ADVANCED THE PWR AND GOT THE CONFIGN WARNING. I ABORTED THE TKOF AND TAXIED BACK TO THE GATE. DURING TAXIING BACK TO THE GATE, I NOTICED THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON AND OFF, WITH IT STAYING ON AFTER ABOUT 15 SECONDS. AT THE GATE I WROTE THE DISCREPANCY IN THE LOGBOOK. MAINT DISCOVERED A FAULTY SWITCH IN THE PARKING BRAKE HANDLE.
